3 out of 5 stars moving stepper   March 29, 2010
Desiree C. Sotomayor
I purchased mine through the online WalMart site, and as previously mentioned, it does tend to scoot when used on carpet. I found a way to combat this though-take a rubberized yoga mat, put it on a hard floor, set the stepper on top of it, and it shouldn't go anywhere that way.

4 out of 5 stars Better Than Expected   March 14, 2010
Chicken Native (St. Paul, MN United States)
The item is better made than I expected - and provides more of a workout than one would expect. When I first got on it I was thinking to myself that it was rather lame...but it didn't take long at all for me to feel it working on my legs. Agree with the comments about it moving around, however, that doesn't affect the function of the product. My plan is to purchase a non-slip map - just haven't gotten around to it yet.

5 out of 5 stars Easy does it, but nice to feel the burn!   December 29, 2009

I received two of these for Christmas. I guess I either talked about wanting it too much to my family or I need to lose a few pounds!

I read some of the reviews and at [...] and I think the HSN reviews are more accurate.

Here is my take on Tony Little's Rock N Roll Stepper:

Pros:

1) No setup required! Opened box, got digital counter started, and began stepping and began feeling 'the burn'. Guess I need to check out the videos soon.
2) Takes up a small amount of space. (I have a small house and with the use of a 18"-24" by 12" (or so) rubber mat with non-slip raised bumps from Menards (You can find for under $10 at your local home improvement store...Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I paid about $5 for mine).
3) Okay for low back, depending on severity of problems. I have lower back problems periodically due to herniated discs and the stepper actually reduce my lower back pain. Perhaps because I was working other muscles as well.
4) Price was a great deal considering how much it would cost for typical space-saving modeled steppers.
5) I can feel the burn in more than my thighs and waist, which are two of the areas I wanted to tone up.

Cons:

1) Wears one out, especially if a bit out of shape, rather quick. When I tested it out, straight from the box, I was struggling after 10 minutes. I think this is normal because I believe this is mentioned by Tony Little himself on the HSN site's video.

2) I'm thinking of getting rid of my elliptical machine. My elliptical machine also works the arms, so after I check out both DVDs included with the stepper, I'll see if other exercises are effective enough to make me sell off my elliptical.

Overall, consider what you currently have for exercise equipment, what your goal are, space conditions, and what you want to tone or where you with to lose weight before buying. And definitely, definitely get the suggested non-slip mat, because otherwise this baby does move. Personally taking all these things into consideration, I am VERY happy with my Tony Little Rock N Roll stepper. Too bad I have one too many. Wow, Tony Little comes up with some good stuff (the gazelle and this stepper for sure)!

5 out of 5 stars Great For The Knees   December 19, 2009
Debbie Schooley (Maine, USA)
I love this little piece of equipment. I have tried lots of equipment and most hurts my knees. Before this, I could only walk on a treadmill. I did not find the stepper moves around for me at all. I use it on my wooden floor. It is so compact, I keep it right next to my kitchen island. Because it is right there, I can hop on it easily and get moving. It really works your legs and hips. I love it.

1 out of 5 stars this stepper moves all over m floor   October 8, 2009

I read every single review i can find on this stepper and i can tell you great and awefull things about it.
Lets start with negative sides of it: this stepper moves all over the place, its not just moving, mine keeps turning. Withing 10 min i move from one side of my leaving room to the other one making circles. Yes its easy to adjust as many other people said, but even though it only takes 2-5sec. your heart rate goes down and in the end of workout i dont feel relieved i feel even more angry. Yes, its a chip price, but for the same price or more there are other steppers that available for purchase that dont move all over the place. If you watch work out video even the Girl that demonstrate how to use this stepper end up moving all over the stage. Its your choice to purchase it, but i am gonna try to send mine back. Its only 38$ but a manufacturer should be ashamed to put on the market "damaged" product.
I will finish my review on a good note! The concept of this stepper is good, and its true 20 min on this thing will make you sweat.
Good luck, i hope my review helped you to make up your mind.
