Product Description Great for basement mounting. Can be mounted in out of the way locations. Four grip covers. 4- 3/8" mounting bolts with hardware included. Amazon.com Product Description Few exercises work the back, shoulders, and biceps as effectively as chin-ups and pull-ups. Now, with this professional-quality joist-mount chin-up bar, you can perform them in the comfort of your basement, garage, or any other location with an exposed wood joist. The bar--which includes four 4-3/8-inch mounting bolts--offers a pair of transverse handles for pull-ups, with high-quality knurling at the ends and the middle for a better grip. The handles also tilt downward 30 degrees at the end just like the lat pull-down machines at the gym. In addition, the bar sports a couple of perpendicular handles with knurled grips, giving you an alternative hand support for exercises like hanging abdominal raises or narrow-grip pull-ups. The pull-up bar measures 48 inches long and 1-1/4 inches in diameter.

Great buy August 1, 2010 Michael J. Hernan 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sturdy, well-made and easy to install (provided you have the correct-length bolts for your joist). Just what I was looking for. I'm very glad that I went with a mounted version, rather than the door versions, which can be problematic.
High quality and built to last. This is the one to get. July 23, 2010 Mac-Tendo Guy (WI United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried the door mounted junk and took it back immediately. Started looking at local stores, then all over the internet and finally found this excellent chin up bar.
Great features. Solid construction. Professional cut knurling. Shipped fast. Included hardware worked great for my 2x10's. Instructions were clear and installed product looks great and feels like I am at the gym.
I am pleased that someone is making such a high quality product at such a great price. Search no longer, this is the one.
Great bar July 9, 2010 J. Grantham 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this chin-up bar to hang in my basement for doing P90X. It was a bit on the expensive side, but it is clearly a piece of equipment that will last for many years. It feels like something you would find in a gym, and compared to one of those that you hang in a door jam it is much more stable and sturdy. Very pleased with it. If you have exposed beams to hang something from, I'd highly recommend this.
Great Pullup Bar April 11, 2010 D. Maxwell (Phoenix, AZ USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This bar is extremely strong, no worries about the amount of weight it can hold. Allows for many hand positions. Knurling is good - not so knurled that it tears at your hands, but enough to get a solid grip.
Rafter-mount pull-up/chin-up bar March 26, 2010 Brook Farling (Indianapolis, IN) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Works great, very sturdy and easy to mount. The shipping was surprisingly fast, I think it arrived within a few days, and that was standard shipping. The shipping charge was a bit steep, but they certainly seemed to process the order very quickly.
